02/02/2021  COURT OPENING NOTICE: 

Although the Courthouse is closed to the General Public, the Magisterial District Judges Offices will be opened for the LIMITED purpose of conducting Hearings and Summary Trials.  If you have a Hearing or Summary Trial scheduled in February, that Hearing or Summary Trial WILL proceed unless you are otherwise notified by the Magisterial District Judge’s Office. 

Also, payments can be made online at the JS Portal and/or by calling to make an appointment to come into the office.

This District Court has jurisdiction over the following areas:

  • City of New Castle (Minus the 6th Ward)

This court handles the actions associated with traffic citations and nontraffic citations, the filing of criminal complaints, and holds proceedings on civil and landlord/tenant cases seeking up to $12,000.00.
