The Coroner serves as an investigator and determiner of an individual’s death. Coroners may be a physician or a law enforcement officer.The Coroner may perform an examination of the scene in which the person died, and supervise the transportation of the body to the morgue. Coroners who are medical examiners perform autopsies to determine the cause and time of death.
Russell S. Noga has been a lifelong resident of Lawrence County and has served his community as a paramedic for thirteen years, nine of which as a flight paramedic. Russell joined his family business in 1993 and now serves as Lawrence County’s Coroner. He is a second generation coroner as he was awarded the position following the ending of his father’s term in 2003.
